1. 1 First, check if the network resource is still available. Open File Explorer and try to navigate to the network path manually. For example, type \\servername\share in the address bar. If you get an error, the server or share might be offline.
2. 2 If you have a mapped network drive, right-click on it in File Explorer and select 'Disconnect'. Then reconnect by right-clicking 'This PC' → 'Map network drive' and entering the correct path. This refreshes the connection.
3. 3 Check your network connection. Press Windows key + I, go to Network & Internet, and ensure you're connected to the correct network. If using Wi-Fi, try reconnecting.
4. 4 If the server is on your local network, ping it to see if it's reachable. Press Windows key + R, type 'cmd', and press Enter. In the command prompt, type 'ping servername' (replace with the actual server name). If you get replies, the server is up; if not, it's offline or there's a firewall blocking.
5. 5 If the server is up but the share is not accessible, you may need to contact your network administrator to verify the share exists and you have permission.
6. 6 Restart your computer to clear any stale network connections. Then try accessing the resource again.
