1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'services.msc', and press Enter. This opens the Services window. Look for the service that is failing (you may see an error in Event Viewer). Right-click it and select 'Properties'.
2. 2 In the Properties window, go to the 'Log On' tab. Here you can set the account that the service uses. If it's set to 'This account', ensure the password is correct. If you're not sure, select 'Local System account' instead, which uses the system's own credentials and often resolves the issue.
3. 3 If you must use a specific account, click 'Browse' to select the correct user, then enter the password twice. Make sure the account has 'Log on as a service' rights. You can grant this via Local Security Policy (secpol.msc) under Local Policies → User Rights Assignment.
4. 4 After making changes, click 'Apply' and 'OK'. Then right-click the service and select 'Restart' to apply the new credentials.
5. 5 If the error persists, open Event Viewer (Win+R, type 'eventvwr.msc') and look for the error details. This will tell you which service or application is failing, so you can focus your fix.
