1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'eventvwr.msc', and press Enter. In Event Viewer, navigate to Windows Logs → System. Look for errors with source 'BugCheck' or 'Kernel-Power' that occurred before the crash. Note the event details, which may point to the faulty driver.
2. 2 Press Windows key + X and select 'Device Manager'. Expand all categories and look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click such devices and select 'Update driver'. If no update is found, try 'Uninstall device' and then restart your PC to reinstall the driver automatically.
3. 3 Press Windows key + I to open Settings. Go to Windows Update → Update history → Uninstall updates. If you recently installed a Windows update, uninstall it to see if the error stops. Also, check for optional driver updates under Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates.
4. 4 Press Windows key + X and select 'Windows Terminal (Admin)'. Run 'sfc /scannow' and wait for it to complete. Then run 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth'. These commands repair system files and the system image.
5. 5 If the error persists, press Windows key + R, type 'msconfig', and press Enter. On the Services tab, check 'Hide all Microsoft services' and click 'Disable all'. On the Startup tab, click 'Open Task Manager' and disable all startup items. Restart. If the error doesn't occur, enable services one by one to find the culprit.
6. 6 If the problem continues, test your RAM with Windows Memory Diagnostic. Press Windows key + R, type 'mdsched.exe', and press Enter. Choose 'Restart now and check for problems'. This will test your RAM for errors.
