1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'cmd', and press Enter. In the Command Prompt, type 'net use' and press Enter. This shows all currently mapped network drives. If you see a drive with 'Unavailable' status, note its drive letter. This tells you which connection is broken.
2. 2 To reconnect a mapped drive, type 'net use Z: \\server\share' (replace Z: and the path with your actual drive letter and network path) and press Enter. If you don't know the path, check with your network administrator. This re-establishes the connection.
3. 3 If the drive is no longer needed, type 'net use Z: /delete' and press Enter to remove it. This cleans up the broken mapping.
4. 4 Press Windows key + R, type 'control', and press Enter to open Control Panel. Go to 'Network and Sharing Center' > 'Change advanced sharing settings'. Ensure 'Network discovery' and 'File and printer sharing' are turned on. This makes your PC visible to other devices and allows you to see them.
5. 5 Press Windows key + R, type 'services.msc', and press Enter. Scroll down to 'Function Discovery Provider Host' and 'Function Discovery Resource Publication'. Right-click each and select 'Restart'. These services handle network discovery and resource listing. Restarting them can refresh the list of available devices.
6. 6 If the error persists, restart your router and PC. Unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for it to fully start. Then restart your PC. This clears temporary network glitches.
