1. 1 First, verify the network path you're trying to access. If you're using a UNC path like \\server\share, make sure the server name is correct and the share exists.
2. 2 Check if the server is reachable. Open Command Prompt and type 'ping server-name' (replace with actual server name). If you get replies, the server is up. If not, the server might be offline or your network is down.
3. 3 If you're trying to access a network drive, go to File Explorer, right-click on 'This PC', and select 'Disconnect network drive'. Then try mapping it again with the correct path.
4. 4 If you're using Windows Update and it's trying to access a local network location, check your Group Policy settings. Run 'gpedit.msc' and navigate to Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Windows Update. Look for 'Specify intranet Microsoft update service location' and ensure it's set correctly.
5. 5 If the issue is with a network share, try accessing it using the IP address instead of the hostname to rule out DNS issues.
