1. 1 First, double-check your username and password. Ensure Caps Lock is off and that you're using the correct domain (e.g., DOMAIN\username). If you're unsure, try logging in with your Microsoft account email instead.
2. 2 If you're accessing a network share, open File Explorer and type the UNC path (e.g., \\server\share). When prompted, enter the correct credentials. If you're using a work account, ensure you're connected to the corporate network or VPN.
3. 3 If you're using Remote Desktop, press Windows key + R, type "mstsc", and press Enter. In the Remote Desktop Connection window, click "Show Options" and verify the computer name and username. Try using the format "DOMAIN\username".
4. 4 If you're an admin and need to reset a user's password, open Command Prompt as administrator and type "net user username newpassword" (replace username and newpassword). This resets the password.
5. 5 Check if the account is locked out. Open Command Prompt as admin and type "net user username" to see account status. If locked, use "net user username /active:yes" to enable it.
