1. 1 Open Credential Manager: press Windows key, type 'Credential Manager', and open it. This is where Windows stores saved passwords for network locations. Click 'Windows Credentials' to see a list of saved credentials.
2. 2 Look for any entries related to the network resource you're trying to access. If you see one, click 'Remove' to delete it. This clears the old password that might be causing the conflict.
3. 3 After removing the credential, try accessing the network share again. Windows will prompt you for the username and password. Enter the correct credentials and check 'Remember my credentials' if you want Windows to save them.
4. 4 If the issue persists, open Command Prompt as administrator and run 'net use * /delete' to disconnect all network drives. Then reconnect to the share using 'net use Z: \\server\share /user:domain\username password'. This forces a fresh connection with the correct password.
5. 5 If you're on a domain, ensure your password is not expired. You can check by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and selecting 'Change a password'.
