1. 1 First, verify the network path. Press Windows key + R, type '\\computername\sharename' (replace with actual names) and press Enter. If you get the error, double-check the spelling and that the computer is turned on.
2. 2 Check if the computer is reachable. Press Windows key + R, type 'cmd', and press Enter. In the Command Prompt, type 'ping computername' and press Enter. If you get replies, the computer is reachable; if not, it's offline or blocked by firewall.
3. 3 If ping fails, check your network connection. Go to Settings > Network & Internet and ensure you are connected to the correct network.
4. 4 If the computer is reachable but you still get the error, it might be a permission issue. Try accessing the share using an account that has access. Right-click on the network drive in File Explorer and select 'Disconnect' if it's mapped, then remap it with different credentials.
5. 5 If you're on a domain network, contact your IT administrator to ensure you have the correct permissions.
6. 6 As a last resort, try enabling Network Discovery. Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings, and turn on Network Discovery and File and Printer Sharing.
