1. 1 Press Win+X and select 'Device Manager'. Expand 'Display adapters'. Right-click your GPU and select 'Properties'. Go to the 'Driver' tab and note the driver version. Check the manufacturer's website for a newer version. If a newer version exists, download and install it.
2. 2 If you recently updated the driver and the problem started, roll back the driver. In Device Manager, right-click your GPU → 'Properties' → 'Driver' tab → 'Roll Back Driver'. This reverts to the previous driver that worked.
3. 3 Run the System File Checker and DISM. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run 'sfc /scannow' and 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth'. This repairs corrupted system files that might affect the video scheduler.
4. 4 Check for Windows updates. Press Win+I, go to Windows Update, and click 'Check for updates'. Install all updates, including optional ones. Some updates fix video scheduler issues.
5. 5 If the error occurs when launching a specific game, try running the game in compatibility mode. Right-click the game's executable, select 'Properties', go to 'Compatibility' tab, and check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10'. Also, try running as administrator.
6. 6 As a last resort, use System Restore. Press Win+R, type 'rstrui.exe', and press Enter. Choose a restore point before the problem started. This reverts system changes without affecting your files.
