1. 1 Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type 'eventvwr.msc' and press Enter. In Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs → System. Look for critical errors that occurred just before the BSOD. This tells you which driver caused the problem. Note the source and event ID.
2. 2 Press Windows key + X and select 'Device Manager'. Expand categories like 'Network adapters', 'Storage controllers', and 'Universal Serial Bus controllers'. Look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click and select 'Update driver' → 'Search automatically for drivers'. This ensures you have the latest driver from Windows Update.
3. 3 If updating doesn't help, go to the manufacturer's website for the problematic device (e.g., Intel, Realtek, NVIDIA). Download the latest driver for your exact model and Windows 11 version. Uninstall the current driver via Device Manager (right-click → Uninstall device, check 'Delete the driver software for this device'), then install the new one.
4. 4 Run the System File Checker and DISM to repair system files. Open Command Prompt as administrator (Win+X → 'Terminal (Admin)'). Type 'sfc /scannow' and press Enter. After it finishes, type 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth' and press Enter. This fixes corrupted system files that might be causing driver conflicts.
5. 5 If the error persists, check for pending Windows updates. Press Win+I to open Settings, go to Windows Update, and click 'Check for updates'. Install all updates and restart. Sometimes a buggy driver is fixed by a cumulative update.
6. 6 As a last resort, use System Restore. Press Win+R, type 'rstrui.exe', and press Enter. Choose a restore point before the problem started. This reverts driver changes without affecting your files.
