1. 1 Boot into Safe Mode. Restart your PC and press F8 (or Shift + Restart) to access recovery options. Choose 'Troubleshoot' → 'Advanced options' → 'Startup Settings' → 'Restart'. Then press 4 or F4 to enter Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads minimal drivers, allowing you to fix the issue.
2. 2 Open Command Prompt as administrator. In Safe Mode, press Windows key + X and select 'Windows Terminal (Admin)'. Type 'verifier /reset' and press Enter. This disables Driver Verifier. Restart your PC normally. This should stop the error from occurring.
3. 3 If you don't know why Verifier was enabled, check for recent driver installations. Press Windows key + X and select 'Device Manager'. Look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click and select 'Update driver' or 'Uninstall device' if it's problematic. Reboot after uninstalling.
4. 4 Run System File Checker to repair any corrupted system files. In an elevated command prompt, type 'sfc /scannow' and press Enter. This ensures system integrity.
5. 5 Update all drivers to the latest versions from the manufacturer's website. Pay special attention to graphics, network, and chipset drivers. Outdated drivers can trigger Verifier stops.
