1. 1 Press Windows key + X and select 'Terminal (Admin)' or 'Command Prompt (Admin)' from the menu. This opens a command prompt with administrative privileges, which is necessary to view and manage drive joins.
2. 2 Type 'mountvol' and press Enter. This lists all mounted volumes and their junctions. Look for any entry that shows a join path (a folder on a drive that points to another volume). If you see a join, note the path.
3. 3 If the join is missing, you need to recreate it. For example, if the error involves 'C:\Joined' and the target drive is 'D:', you can use the 'mountvol' command to create a junction: 'mountvol C:\Joined \\?\Volume{GUID}\' (replace with the actual volume GUID). To find the GUID, use 'mountvol' without arguments and look for the volume.
4. 4 If the join exists but the target volume is not accessible, check that the target drive is connected and has a valid file system. Use 'dir D:' to verify.
5. 5 After fixing the join, restart the program. If the error persists, consider removing the join and using a different approach like a symbolic link.
