1. 1 Press Windows key + X and select 'Device Manager'. Expand categories like 'Disk drives', 'Universal Serial Bus controllers', and 'Network adapters'. Look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click and select 'Update driver' → 'Search automatically for updated driver software'. This ensures you have the latest driver that may fix the timeout issue.
2. 2 If no update is found, right-click the device and select 'Uninstall device'. Check 'Delete the driver software for this device' if available, then restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically. This clears any corrupted driver state.
3. 3 Press Windows key + R, type 'powercfg.cpl', and press Enter. In Power Options, click 'Change plan settings' next to your active plan, then 'Change advanced power settings'. Expand 'USB settings' → 'USB selective suspend setting' and set it to 'Disabled'. This prevents Windows from suspending USB devices, which can cause timeouts.
