1. 1 Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type 'services.msc' and press Enter. This opens the Services window where you can manage background services. Look for 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)' and 'DCOM Server Process Launcher' – these are essential for the Endpoint Mapper. Ensure they are 'Running' and set to 'Automatic' startup type. If not, right-click each, select Properties, set Startup type to Automatic, click Start, then OK.
2. 2 Press Windows key + R, type 'firewall.cpl', and press Enter. Click 'Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off' on the left. Ensure the firewall is turned on for both private and public networks. If it's off, turn it on. Sometimes a third-party firewall or security suite can block RPC communication. Temporarily disable any third-party firewall (if installed) to test, but re-enable it after.
3. 3 Open Command Prompt as administrator: Press Windows key, type 'cmd', right-click 'Command Prompt', and select 'Run as administrator'. In the command prompt, type 'sfc /scannow' and press Enter. This scans and repairs corrupted system files. Wait for it to finish (may take 15-20 minutes). After it completes, restart your PC.
