1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'secpol.msc' and press Enter. This opens the Local Security Policy editor. We need to grant the appropriate logon right for the specific logon type.
2. 2 Navigate to Security Settings → Local Policies → User Rights Assignment. Look for the right that corresponds to the logon type. For example, 'Allow log on locally' for interactive logon, 'Access this computer from the network' for network logon, 'Log on as a service' for service logon, and 'Log on as a batch job' for batch logon.
3. 3 Double-click the relevant policy. Click 'Add User or Group...' and add the user or group that needs the right. Type the username, click 'Check Names', and 'OK'.
4. 4 Click 'Apply' and 'OK'. Close the Local Security Policy window.
5. 5 If the error occurs when using Remote Desktop, also ensure the user is in the 'Remote Desktop Users' group. Press Windows key + X, select 'System', then 'Remote Desktop', and click 'Select users that can remotely access this PC'.
