1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'cmd', and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open Command Prompt as administrator.
2. 2 First, test the secure channel: Type 'nltest /sc_verify:[domain]' (replace [domain] with your domain name) and press Enter. If it fails, the secure channel is broken.
3. 3 To reset the secure channel, type 'netdom resetpwd /server:[parentDC] /userd:[admin] /passwordd:*' (replace [parentDC] with the parent domain controller's name and [admin] with an admin account). You'll be prompted for the password. This resets the machine account password.
4. 4 If netdom is not available, use PowerShell: Press Windows key + X and select 'Terminal (Admin)'. Type 'Test-ComputerSecureChannel -Repair -Credential (Get-Credential)' and press Enter. Enter admin credentials when prompted. This repairs the secure channel.
5. 5 After resetting the secure channel, restart the FRS service: Type 'net stop NtFrs' and press Enter, then 'net start NtFrs' and press Enter.
6. 6 Check the Event Viewer for FRS events: Press Windows key + R, type 'eventvwr.msc', and press Enter. Navigate to Windows Logs → System and look for FRS-related errors. If the error persists, you may need to perform a non-authoritative restore of FRS as described in the previous error.
