1. 1 Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. Go to the 'Users' tab. Check if there are multiple sessions for the same user. If you see duplicate sessions, right-click and 'Disconnect' the extra ones. This frees up session IDs.
2. 2 Press Win+R, type 'tscon' and press Enter to see active terminal sessions. If you see multiple sessions with the same ID, note them. You can use 'logoff' command to end them: open Command Prompt as admin and type 'logoff [sessionID]'.
3. 3 If the error is from a service, open Services (Win+R, services.msc). Find the service and ensure it's set to 'Start' only once. If it's set to 'Automatic (Delayed Start)', change to 'Automatic' to avoid conflicts.
4. 4 Check the registry for duplicate entries: Press Win+R, type 'regedit', and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server. Look for 'TSEnabled' and ensure it's set to 1. Also check 'fDenyTSConnections' — if it's 1, remote sessions are disabled, which might cause conflicts.
5. 5 If the error persists, restart the computer. This clears all logon sessions and resets the session manager.
