1. 1 Press Windows key + R, type 'secpol.msc' and press Enter. This opens the Local Security Policy editor, which controls security settings on your computer. We need to adjust logon rights.
2. 2 Navigate to Security Settings → Local Policies → User Rights Assignment. In the right pane, look for 'Log on as a batch job' and 'Log on as a service'. Double-click each one.
3. 3 In the properties window, click 'Add User or Group...'. Type the username of the account that is failing to log on, then click 'Check Names' to verify, and 'OK'. This grants the account the necessary logon right.
4. 4 If the account is a service account, also check 'Log on as a service' and add the account there. This is often required for services like SQL Server or custom applications.
5. 5 Click 'Apply' and 'OK' for each policy. Then close the Local Security Policy window.
6. 6 If the error occurs when connecting to a network share, try mapping the drive with explicit credentials: Press Windows key + E, right-click 'This PC', select 'Map network drive', and check 'Connect using different credentials'.
