2. 2 If you're sure the password is correct, try resetting it. On the login screen, click 'I forgot my password' or 'Reset password'. Follow the prompts to verify your identity via email, phone, or security questions. If you're using a Microsoft account, you can reset it online at account.live.com/password/reset. This will create a new password.
3. 3 If you're using a local account and don't have a password reset disk, you'll need to use another administrator account. Log in with that account, press Windows key + X, and select 'Computer Management'. Go to 'Local Users and Groups' → 'Users', right-click your account, and select 'Set Password'. Follow the prompts to set a new password.
