1. 1 Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type 'cmd' and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open Command Prompt as administrator. Click Yes if prompted. This gives you the ability to run network diagnostic commands that require elevated privileges.
2. 2 In the Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig /flushdns' and press Enter. This clears the DNS cache, which stores previous domain name resolutions. If the cache is corrupted, it can lead to invalid connection attempts. Flushing it forces your computer to look up fresh addresses.
3. 3 Next, type 'netsh winsock reset' and press Enter. This resets the Winsock catalog, which is a database of network protocols and services. If this catalog is corrupted, network connections can fail with invalid handle errors. After running this, you'll need to restart your computer.
4. 4 After restarting, press Windows key + I to open Settings. Go to Network & internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset. Click 'Reset now' and confirm. This will reinstall network adapters and reset network components to default, which can fix underlying issues.
5. 5 If the error persists, check if any third-party firewall or antivirus is blocking the application. Temporarily disable such software (if safe) and try the connection again. If it works, add an exception for the affected program in your security software.
