1. 1 Restart your PC. Sometimes a temporary glitch can cause this error. If it happens again, continue.
2. 2 Press Windows key + R, type 'cmd', then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open Command Prompt as administrator. Type 'sfc /scannow' and press Enter. This scans and repairs system files. After it finishes, type 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth' and press Enter. These commands fix corrupted system files that might be causing the critical process to die.
3. 3 Press Windows key + I to open Settings, then go to Windows Update. Click 'Check for updates' and install any pending updates. Also, go to Advanced options → Optional updates and install any driver or quality updates. Updates often include fixes for critical processes.
4. 4 Run a full antivirus scan using Windows Security (or your preferred antivirus). Press Windows key + I, go to Privacy & security → Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Scan options, and select 'Full scan'. Malware can kill critical processes, so this step is crucial.
